Excursion to Cassis
Cassis the fruit is blackcurrant, but the city of Cassis has much more color than that. Blue water, grey rocks, white sand, green trees, and red shoulders (thanks to the yellow sun) are really just the undertones of this colorful city.
The beach will always be my favorite destination, but recently coming at a close second are the calanques. A lot more interesting than they sound, these narrow inlets or steep sided valleys do not feel like just a bunch of rocks, trees, and water once you realize you feel like you’re in the ‘Grand Canyon of the sea.’ Coming either from sunstroke or the power of sheer beauty, I think the city Cassis and its colors are worthy of any artist’s palette.
