Throwback: Rome Edition
ISA High School participants in Sorrento, Italy will start off their time abroad by spending a few days in Rome. Students will have the opportunity to explore this magnificent city and all it has to offer. Today, ISA-HS is throwing it back to past excursions with students in Rome!
Rome is known as the “Eternal City,” and is a vibrant metropolis that magically blends historic landmarks with modern Italian style. Few cities in the world rival Rome’s influence on history, government, art and culture. As the capital of an an ancient empire, Italian present-day nation, and home to the Vatican, Rome has played a central role in the foundation of Western civilization. Students will have the opportunity to explore famous monuments such as the Roman Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain, and the Vatican, all while becoming more familiar with their host country through program orientations.
In addition to the initial excursion in Rome, students who participate on the Sorrento, Italy program this summer will also travel to and explore Pompeii, the Isle of Capri, and Positano on weekend trips. Weekdays will be spent learning Italian, interacting with local students, and participating on fun cultural activities- such as making gelato!
