¡Bienvenidos a Madrid!

¡Bienvenidos a Madrid!

Our journey to Sevilla started in Madrid, the capital of Spain and a very beautiful, historic city. After meeting the entire group and settling into our hotel, we had a chance to explore. We had no idea where we were going and what to do, but we ended up in a quiet park that was nice and relaxing. We were especially surprised by the amount of green there is in such a huge city. The girls got together for dinner and we walked to a nice little cafe for some dinner hoping for some authentic Spanish food, but we all ended up getting pasta or pizza. Tired and ready for a new day, we headed back to the hotel to recover from the long flight.

Waking up we were excited and shocked that it was actually real…we were in SPAIN! We started our day off with a tour guide who took us to the Museo del Prado—a very famous museum filled with classic pieces of art. Our favorite part was seeing Las Meninas by Velazquez. The tour guide was helpful because he explained the history behind the most famous pieces. After the museum we went on a walking tour of the city and ended up in Plaza Mayor in the heart of Madrid. We were let free for lunch and free time so we went shopping on Gran Via, a street with many different stores. After getting lost on our way back to the hotel, we made the smart decision to get a cab. Our feet were in pain after a long day of walking! We met the group for dinner and had pizza again, glad to be with each other in Spain. We finally got back to the hotel and went to bed excited for the journey ahead!

Hasta luego en Toledo,
